Notes: This one day course will introduce you to the basics of landscapes sketching using pen and wash techniques. Set in the grounds one of England’s most striking Jacobean stately homes and includes a lunch and all refreshments.

Our day includes a walk through part of the parkland setting beside the lake and sketching some of the charming estate cottages and barns nearby. There are numerous views to be enjoyed and we shall concentrate on how to achieve a working sketch book from which one can build up landscape painting subjects at home. This is a popular course, not least as refreshments are included and luncheon vouchers are provided for the National Trust Tea Rooms!

Notes: A two day improver's course painting in the Cathedral Close at the heart of the 'fine city' of Norwich with one of England's best watercolour Impressionists. The ancient Close is the largest Cathedral precinct in the country and contains many fine houses, some dating back 800 years. The Cathedral is one of the finest Norman buildings in Europe. There are a number of locations where painters can enjoy spectacular views especially in the covered Cloisters. All our meals will be served in the award winning Refectory. The course includes lunch and refreshments each day.

Location: on board a five star Nile Cruise boat which will take us from the ancient City of Luxor to Aswan visiting the astonishing Luxor and Karnack temples and the Valley of the Kings. The boat itinerary includes visits to some of the world’s most spectacular archaeological sites at Edfu, Kom Ombo, Esna, Philae and Aswan. There will be watercolour workshops on board and a chance to sketch the passing desert scenery in comfort. (more information…)

Notes: Four nights residential ensuite accommodation in a large country house in the heart of the Lake District on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. We shall be painting, sketching, looking at poetry and visiting the Wordsworth homes at Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount and other sites associated with the Romantic Movement. By combining art and literature, the course is designed to attract painters and their non - painting partners who would enjoy these literary and historical dimensions. The course will be staffed by three qualified and very experienced art teachers with an interest in history and poetry.

Notes: An adventure for painters and others who want to experience some pearls of the orient while encountering an imaginative educational project. The aim is to produce a reflective travelogue sketchbook or photographic scrapbook of this trip of a lifetime. We shall stay half board in beautiful colonial hotels, delight in spice gardens and palm beaches as well as visit Buddhist and Hindu shrines. This is a real adventure in watercolour.
