Lakeland Adventure

Having long been associated with the Lake District from childhood we are delighted to offer this introductory course in one of Cumbria’s great houses. The views from Rydal Hall are spectacular and it is in the very heart of poetic Lakeland just minutes from Wordsworth’s home. The house offers good facilities and is well known as a retreat and conference centre which is used often by painting groups. In fact the first ‘plein air’ painting took place here in the late 18th century at the foot of the waterfall in the garden.

The course will take in visits to Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount as well as providing opportunities to sketch Rydal Water and Grasmere two of the prettiest lakes in the National Park. As in Honfluer we are providing you with three qualified and experienced art teachers who will inspire you to engage with this beautiful landscape and explore some of its poetry.

The course runs for four days and nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
